Bécherel

Bécherel ( Begerel Breton ) is a commune with 746 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Ille -et -Vilaine in the Brittany region; it belongs to the district of Rennes and the same canton Bécherel.

City of Books

The municipality is called "town of books", as there are fifteen bookstores for 660 inhabitants in the village. Several times a year there are books festivals, especially the Fête du Livre (Festival of Books ) on Easter weekend, as well as the "Night of the Books " in August.
