Bechor-Shalom Sheetrit

Bechor - Shalom Schidtriht (Hebrew בכור - שלום שיטרית, * 1895 in Tiberias, Ottoman Empire, † January 28, 1967 in Israel) was an Israeli politician and minister.

He was one of the first signatories of the Israeli declaration of independence 37. Schidtriht was a former police officer and was since May 1948 and a month before his death in January 1967 Police Minister. He worked in 14 governments and was the longest serving in the same minister in Israel.

Policy

Schidtriht Knesset was in the 1st to the 6th legislature. So for the 1949-1951 Sfaradim VeEdot Misrach, 1951-1965 for Mapai, 1965-1967 for the HaMa'arach. He was from 1948-1967 Minister of Police and Minister for Minorities 1948-1949.
