Background

Beds Are Burning is a political song, it is about the return of land to the Pintupi, an Australian Aboriginal tribe. The trunk was only discovered in the 1930s in the Gibson Desert, followed by forced evictions in the 1950s and 1960s years in the Papunya settlement.
