Background
Beds Are Burning is a political song, it is about the return of land to the Pintupi, an Australian Aboriginal tribe. The trunk was only discovered in the 1930s in the Gibson Desert, followed by forced evictions in the 1950s and 1960s years in the Papunya settlement. In 1981, she returned to their origin and founded the settlement of Kintore.
At the Olympic Summer Games 2000 Midnight Oil played the song at the closing ceremony, all dressed in black and with the inscription: "Sorry ."
