Beidweiler is a village in the municipality of young Linster in Luxembourg.
History
The story Beidweilers to the year 930, when there was a parish of the same name. Until the French Revolution, the village belonged to the monastery of Echternach. 1939, a memorial stone was erected to commemorate the centenary of the independence of Luxembourg. Until 1 January 1979, when the communities Roudemer ( Rodenbourg ) and Junglinster merged Beidweiler belonged to Roudemer.
Transmitter
Since 1972, the Broadcasting Center Europe, a subsidiary of RTL Group in Beidweiler operates a transmitter for radiating the French-language program RTL on the long wave frequency 234 kHz with a power of up to 1,500 kW.
