The Belden, Inc., headquartered in St. Louis (Missouri, USA) is a publicly traded company ( NYSE: BDC), the solutions for the data transmission develops, manufactures, and markets.

These solutions, which include both cable and connector and active components, particularly targeted at market segments in both highly specialized and readily available products. The applications range from industrial automation to data centers, broadcast studios and the aviation and aerospace industries. History

1902 Belden in Chicago (Illinois, USA) was founded by Joseph Belden. 1905 the first breakthrough as an insulation called Beldenamel was released. So the company moved in 1910 to new premises in Chicago.

1927 Belden could expand further and opened a factory in Richmond, was produced exclusively in the electrical wire. During the Second World War went ahead with its expansion and a company site of over 65,000 square meters, it was the largest in 70 years of company history. By 1942, Belden produced war products that were used in tanks, submarines, aircraft, and many other products.

From 1980, Belden worked closely with Crouse -Hinds from New York, 1981 Cooper Industries stepped out of Texas in cooperation. In 1993 the company moved to St. Louis; Belden was a separate, independent entity. The German company founded in 1964, HEW cable was in 1998 a member of the Corporation. 2004 merged Belden and Cable Design Technologies for new Belden CDT Inc. In 2007, Belden German companies Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH and Lumberg Automation Components GmbH and renamed Belden Inc.. 2008 Belden bought the American company Trapeze Networks, a manufacturer of wireless systems and software, which was sold in November 2010, the company Juniper Networks is headquartered in Sunnyvale (USA). 2008 summed up the Belden Inc., the European subsidiary closed for Belden EMEA together. Mid 2009 HEW cable taken with headquarters in Wipperfuerth in a management buy-out by managing director Rainer Flohr and no longer belongs thus to the Belden Group.

Products

Belden is a leading provider of more than 3,000 different wire and cable products. These include copper and fiber optic cable, connectors, cable installation systems and products in the field of Industrial Ethernet, Power over Ethernet and wireless LAN. In addition, enclosures and switch boxes are manufactured.

Belden has offices in more than 30 countries in North and South America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. Products are developed and manufactured at production facilities in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Germany, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Denmark, Italy and Hungary.
