The railway connects the Brussels Charleroi Brussels agglomeration via Nivelles and Marchienne -au -Pont with Charleroi.
Operation and history
The built through the " Etat Belge " railway line was opened in several sections:
- October 23, 1843: Charleroi- Luttre
- December 22, 1873: St Genesius Rode Kalevoet -
- February 1, 1874: St Genesius Rode -Waterloo
- March 10, 1874: Waterloo Braine l' Alleud
- April 10, 1874: Braine l' Alleud - Lillois
- June 1, 1874: Lillois- Luttre
In the 1940s, the railway line was electrified (3 kV).
