Belica, Međimurje County

Belica is a Croatian village in the county Međimurje. The village has 3,176 inhabitants and covers an area of ​​27.75 km ² (as of 2011 ). The main industry is the textile industry and agriculture with a focus on potato production.

The municipality consists of the villages of Belica Belica and Gardinovec. It lies in a plain and separates, in a geographical sense, the lower from the upper part of the district Međimurje.

The continental climate, with hot summers and cold winters and an annual temperature difference of about 50 ° C, and moderate winds from north and south, is documented for over one hundred years. The name Stephen Bekoych / Stjepan Bekoić de Belic, administrator of a landowner from Čakovec, appears in 1478 in the history books.
