Bellerophon Painter

The Bellerophon Painter was one of the first Attic black-figure vase painter. His creative period is dated to the period 630-600 BC.

The Bellerophon Painter was a contemporary of Nessus Painter, at its meaning and artistic class, however, he could not reach. From him are two neck amphorae with representation of Bellerophon and the Chimaera known, both of which were found in Vari, and are now in Athens, National Museum Inv. 16389 and 16391st is striking at him and some other Attic vase painters of this time that the image areas of the large-sized vases with many figures and ornaments are filled, which are difficult to distinguish from each other to some extent.
