Belshina

Belshina is a Belarusian car tire manufacturer based in Bobruisk, a large white Russian industrial city.

The factory produces more than 180 different tire sizes for cars, trucks, mining transporter, tractors, road construction and electric vehicles. More than 90 percent are radial tires. The construction and design of the tires are protected by patents. Belshina supplies in more than 40 countries. Revenue for the first half of 2004 was reported to be about 80 million U.S. dollars.

Belshina also has a football team, FK Belschyna Bobruisk ( Belshina Bobruisk ), which is well known in Belarus and other CIS countries.

History

The establishment of Belshina goes back to the Decree No. 299 of the Council of Ministers of the USSR dated 25 March 1953 ( About steps to better use of labor of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic) and Resolution No. 90 -p of the Supreme Soviet from June 11, 1965 which approved the plan for the construction of the plant, which began in September 1965.
