Belted Plaid

The Belted Plaid, the forerunner of the Scottish kilts dar. first mention is the Belted Plaid end of the 16th century. The Belted Plaid was worn exclusively by men.

The Belted Plaid consists of an approximately one and a half meters wide, four to six meters long fabric that is folded when creating and " down " to the body. It remains a long path which can be defined as a kind of scarf over his shoulder. The kilt is fixed by belt and a primer for the sash. The sash can be " fanned out " and then serves as a mantle, or cloak.

The application of a Belted plaid is relatively complicated and requires some practice, so that the garment fits well and stays in place with every movement.
