Ben Berden
Ben Berden ( born September 29, 1975 in Hasselt ) is a Belgian cyclo-cross and road racing cyclist.
Sports career
Ben Berden won in 1994 at the Cyclocross World Championships in Koksijde the bronze medal in the junior race. He was Belgian champion in the U23 class in 1996. On the road, he won a stage of the 1998 Ronde van Vlaams- Brabant and was also the overall standings decide for themselves. End of the season he drove Palmans - Ideal for the cycling team and was there the following year pro. In 2000 he moved to Vlaanderen 2002 - Eddy Merckx and Saey - Deschacht Sports Groep. After a forced break for doping from 2004 Berden again drove race from 2009.
Doping
After a race in 2004 in Essen (Belgium ) Berden was found guilty of doping with Epo and initially blocked for 15 months; after an appeal by the International Cycling Union Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI ) at the International Court of Sport (CAS ), the lock has been extended by eight months.
