Ben Hammersley

Ben Hammersley ( born April 3, 1976 in Leicester ) is a British internet technologist, strategist and journalist. He specializes in the impact of the digital post- and post- Internet age, as well as to the strategic demands arising therefrom.

Life

Hammersley worked as the first Internet reporter for The Times, for which he was shortlisted for the British Press Awards, as well as a reporter for The Guardian and the British branch of MSN. During his early career, Hammersley specializing in technology journalism, but also reported often from dangerous countries like Iran and Afghanistan. In 1999 he travels obscured to interview the Burmese opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi. He also works as a freelance reporter for the BBC and as a consultant for the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He teaches and lectures internationally and has published five books.

Hammersley is a member of the British cultural institution RSA, the Savage Club and the Frontline Club and the Transatlantic Network 2020. He lives alternately in London and New York.
