Ben McAdams

Benjamin "Ben" McAdams is an American politician (Democratic Party).

Life

McAdams studied at the University of Utah and then attended the Law School of Columbia University in New York City, where he received his Juris Doctor. Here he met his future wife. After graduation he was working in New York as an attorney for the law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. Later he worked for the law firm Dorsey & Whitney in Salt Lake City.

2009 McAdams was elected in the by-election for the vacant Senate seat of the new appointment of Scott McCoy in the Senate from Utah. 2012 McAdams was elected mayor of Salt Lake County and thus retired from the Senate. His party colleague Jim Dabakis won the resulting by-election and took over vacant seat McAdams In January 2013 was McAdams inauguration as mayor of Salt Lake County.

McAdams is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. In his youth he worked for a mission in Brazil. He is married and has four children.
