Bengt Holbek

Bengt Knud Holbek ( born April 1, 1933, Copenhagen, † August 27, 1992 ) was a Danish folklorist.

Career

Holbek makes 1962, following the study of the Danish and Latin Philology and Folklore at the University of Copenhagen holds an MA degree. In the following years he has worked as an archivist at the local Dansk Folkemindesamling until it is 1970 Lecturer at the Institute for Folkemindevidenskab (since 1988 the Institute for Folklore ) of the University of Copenhagen. In 1987 he habilitated with the work Interpretation of Fairy Tales.

After publication of his dissertation ( Habilitation thesis in Denmark), he was co-editor of Folklore Fellows ' Communications and remained so until the end.
