Benice, West Pomeranian Voivodeship

Benice ( German Benz ) is a village in the municipality of Kamien Pomorski in Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Geographical location

Benice located in Pomerania twelve miles southeast of downtown Kamien Pomorski ( Pomerania in Pomerania ) and 58 kilometers north of Szczecin.

History

The village was first mentioned in documents in 1365. In 1466, the family owned in Flemming - Böck Benz. 1628, there are three units with a total of 20 hooves, and there was in the village five Kossäten, a miller, a blacksmith, a shepherd and a guest house. Around 1780 there was in the village a Vorwerk, ten farmers, two Kossäten, a blacksmith, a windmill, a schoolmaster and a total of 36 households. In 1870 the Lehnrittergut had a size of 440 acres and 147 inhabitants, Kirchdorf Benz had 31 owners on 277.5 acres and 192 inhabitants.

In 1925 426 residents were counted iin the municipality Benz, which were distributed to 88 households.

The boundaries of the municipality Benz had a surface area of 1,690 acres, of which 625.4 hectares of forest were. The manor had in 1944 an area of ​​about 1,120 hectares, its last owner prior to 1945 was Hasso Graf von Flemming -Benz.

District Klaushagen. This village was first mentioned in documents in 1321. In 1628 here was a sheep farm that belonged to the village Benz. Around 1780 there were in Klaushagen a Vorwerk with a sheep and four fireplaces. 1870 there was a Vorwerk of 487 hectares, five residential buildings and 65 residents. 1923 ten pension assets were founded with 169 acres. 1944 was a forest of 341 hectares for Waldgut Benz.

District Pemplow. This district was recorded as early as 1308 the cathedral chapter of Pomerania documented. In 1530 the mayor's office with four hooves remain with the family stone weir, and Benzer farmers occupy the deserted farmsteads ( ten fields ). Towards the end of the Second World War, the population of Benz received on March 4, 1945 late in the evening for permission to evacuate the village, but was too late. The treks were fired at noon and rolled over on March 5, 1945 Parlowkrug by Soviet tanks. After the war, Benz was placed under Polish administration. With the takeover of its management by Poland in the summer of 1945, in the region of a final deportation of the remaining population, which was largely completed in the same year.

Church

The village population from 1945 to present Benz owned by a large majority of the evangelical creed. The village church of Benz, in which the Protestants were the parish of Klaus Hagen, was a filial church of Königsmühl.

On August 3, 1898, the birthday of the founder Hasso hereditary marshal Graf von Flemming, a new church was inaugurated in a beautiful location on a hill at the village, a neo-Gothic brick building with a tower which is flanked by two stair turrets. It replaced a small half-timbered church, which was mentioned in 1594 as a branch church of Königsmühl and even served as a burial chapel until 1945, but was then demolished. The patronage of the churches of Benz was in the hands of the Flemming family.
