Benjamin Totori

Benjamin Totori (born 20 February 1986) is a Solomon Islands football players in the position of striker.

Career

Totori began his career with Uncles FC in the Solomon Islands. In 2005 he moved to New Zealand club Young Heart Manawatu. With his good performances he was immediately noticed. The highlight in his young career made ​​the move to the Portland Timbers in the second highest American League. Thus he became the first Solomonic footballer who plays as the OFC in another federation. Prior to joining he won with Waitakere United still the New Zealand Cup. However, due to an injury, he joined a little later back to Waitakere United. In October 2010 he joined after a successful time in New Zealand to his home to Koloale FC Honiara. In the first season he was top scorer in the Solomon Islands National Club Championship with 23 goals in just 19 games.

For the selection of his country Totori denied since his debut in 2007 so far 15 games in which he reach 15 goals.

At the World Ozeanienmeisterschaft 2012 he managed the equalizer for a 1-1 draw against the favored New Zealand national football team in the group stage. In the 3rd place match against New Zealand, which lost the Solomon 3:4, Totori scored twice.

After he was able to draw attention to themselves during the Ozeanienmeisterschaft 2012 Totori changed in June for New Zealand club Wellington Phoenix, which plays in the Australian Football League first. Since the fall of 2013 he plays again in the Solomon Islands for Western United FC. For the group stage of the OFC Champions League 2013/14 he joined in March 2014 back to Waitakere United.
