Benno Adam

Benno Rafael Adam ( born July 15, 1812 in Munich, † March 8, 1892 in Kelheim ) was a German painter of animals.

Benno Adam, the eldest son of the Munich painter Albrecht Adam, distinguished himself particularly by showing the game animals and hunting dogs in figure- rich compositions ( deer hunting, fox baiting, boar hunts, Halali ) and pets.

Benno Adam is one of the Chiemsee painters.

In the summer of 1834 he married Josepha Quaglio, eldest daughter of the architecture painter Domenico Quaglio. Her son Emil Adam was also a painter. Benno Adam's brothers are the painter Franz, Eugen and Julius Adam.
