Benny Green (saxophonist)

Bernard " Benny " Green ( born December 9, 1927 in Leeds, Yorkshire, England; † 22 June 1998 in Surrey ) was a British jazz musician (saxophone), radio host and author.

Benny Green grew up in Marylebone, North London and took an early interest in music and literature. He learned to play saxophone and came in 1953 to Ronnie Scott's Jazz Band.

From 1955 he was a regular guest on BBC radio. He worked as a writer and presenter for documentaries on stage, film and jazz. He thundered his own show on Sunday afternoon, in which he played jazz music and to rock music and rock ' n ' roll for many years.
