Benson & Hedges Cup

The Benson & Hedges Cup was the third one-day cricket competition for English first-class county clubs and was fought from 1972 to 2002. It was attended at different times, various amateur teams in part, such as Ireland or the Combined Universities.

It consisted of group matches at the beginning of the season, followed by a knock-out from the quarter- finals. The final took place in the middle of the season at Lord 's Cricket Ground. The Benson & Hedges Cup had a lower status than the older Gillette Cup.
