Bergmagazin

The Mount Magazine was a building that served as a granary for miners and residents of mining towns.

Story ( Sachsen)

The construction of mountain magazines in the Electorate and Kingdom of Saxony was reinforced in 1806 at the suggestion of the chief mining 's Friedrich Wilhelm Heinrich von Trebra. Given the great famines that piled up in the Upper Erzgebirge at the end of the 18th century due to several bad harvests, Trebra recommended the construction of multi-storey, stone magazine buildings where deposited grain after harvest and could be stored for several months or even years.
