Beringel is a municipality in Portugal Freguesia in the county and district of Beja, 15.1 km ² and 1304 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011). This gives a population density of 86.6 inhabitants / km ².

Beringel was formerly the capital of a country 's own circuit between 1519 and 1839.

Coat of arms

In red a golden winged sword- wielding golden arm. The escutcheon is placed a four-towered mural crown. In the white band at the sign foot the place name in black letters " Beringel "
