Berkeley Breathed

Berkeley " Berke " Breathed ( born June 21, 1957 in Encino in Los Angeles ) is an American cartoonist and children's book author.

He became known for the comic strip " Bloom County " (1980-1988), who in 1987 won him a Pulitzer Price. As darkly cynical continuation of the series he produced ' Outland ' (1989-1995), which, however, never became as popular as its predecessor. Bloom County's main character, a talking penguin named Opus, emerged as a solo star from 2003 to 2008 again weekly in the newspapers. Breatheds comics are socio - politically critical without any preconceived ideas to champion, funny without trivializing. Breathed is also involved in his children's books for pets, especially dogs.
