Berlin is a city ( town) in Worcester County in the U.S. state of Maryland. It has 3491 inhabitants and a population density of 612.7 inhabitants / km ². In the city lies the Atlantic General Hospital.

Geography

Berlin is situated on a peninsula between the bays Chesapeake Bay and Delaware Bay between Virginia and Delaware. Berlin is located in the valleys Battle Creek, Kitts Branch and a few other small streams. The city is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and has many bays, including the Sinepuxent Bay. History

The village was founded in 1677. The Burleigh Inn at the Philadelphia Post Road (now South Main Street ) and at the Sinepuxent Road (now Tripoli Street) was, gave the village its name. 1868 Berlin grew and became increasingly popular for tourists, mainly due to hunting and fishing.
