Bernard Borderie, the son of film producer Raymond Borderie was initially Illustration draftsman and worked from 1942 as an assistant director, for example, Jean Marcel Carné and for Dréville. From 1951 Borderie himself was working as a film director. The success of The Curse of the blond Satan led to a longer -term relationship with actor Eddie Constantine, of the private eye Lemmy Caution embodied in other strips.
