Bernard Collomb

Niçois Bernard Collomb - Clerc (born 7 October 1930 in Annecy, † 19 September 2011 in La Colle- sur -Loup ) was a French racing driver.

Career

Collomb went motorcycle racing, as he 1960 a Formula 2 Cooper bought. He continued to do so in 1961 the Grand Prix of Vienna on the airfield circuit of Aspern and the Grand Prix of Naples. In Aspern was the Frenchman Fourth, the race in Naples, he finished sixth.

The Formula 2 Cooper was later replaced in the year by a Cooper T53, the Collomb took the Grand Prix of France, Reims. The race he had to, as the Nürburgring, he drove a few weeks later to retire, according to a technical malfunction. The car was in 1962 almost completely destroyed after a fire in practice for the Grand Prix of Brussels and Collomb had to obtain a replacement car in which he was fifth in Enna.

1963 Cooper was replaced by a Lotus 24 with which Collomb to mid-1965 race in Formula 1 driving. This car was destroyed by fire. Upon returning from the Grand Prix of Syracuse race car was completely gutted, as the transporter for a Electrical damage caught fire.

The third race car that earned Collomb, was destroyed. With his Lotus 35 he had an accident in a Formula 2 race in Barcelona in 1966, who left the car as a wreck.

1968 ended Collomb his unsuccessful monoposto efforts and even drove some years rallies with vehicles from Renault Alpine. In 1968, he was with a Alpine A110 also at the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the start.
