Bernard Comrie

Bernard Comrie (* May 23, 1947 in Sunderland ) is an English linguist. Since 1997 he has been director of the Linguistics Department at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, and since 2002 also Distinguished Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. At the University of Cambridge, he earned the degrees of BA and Ph. D. in 1972 In 1978 he became associate professor at the University of Southern California, 1981 Professor.
