Bernardino Butinone
Bernardino Butinone (* around 1436 in Treviglio; † around 1507 ) was an Italian painter of the Renaissance.
He is from 1484 to 1507 in Treviglio in Milan detectable. Butinone was probably a pupil of Vincenzo Foppa as well Bernardo Zenale, with whom he worked closely.
His main works include the crucifixion Bardini in Rome and St. Mary's polyptych ( Mary, St. Martin and other saints ) in San Martino in Treviglio with Bernardo Zenale. Also with Zenale he led the frescoes in the chapel Grifi in San Pietro in Gessate in Milan ( 1491-1493 ). The polyptych Virgin Mary is considered one of the masterpieces of Lombard painting in the 15th century.
He was a teacher of Bramantino.
