Bernardo Navagero

Bernardo Navagero (* 1507 in Venice, † April 13, 1565 in Verona ) was a Cardinal of the Catholic Church.

First, belonging to the state apparatus of the Republic of Venice, but he entered the service of the Catholic Church. Pope Pius IV created him in the consistory of February 26, 1561 to Cardinal and appointed him as soon as cardinal priest with the titular church of San Nicola fra le Immagini. In 1562 he moved briefly to the titular church of San Pancrazio, and was appointed in the same year as Bishop of Verona. Pius IV sent Cardinal Navagero after the death of Girolamo Seripando in March 1563 as one of his legates to the Council of Trent. In 1565 he received the titular church of Santa Susanna.
