Bernardo Romeo

Bernardo Daniel Romeo ( born September 10, 1977 in Tandil ) is an Argentine football player.

Career

Association

Bernardo Daniel Romeo, nicknamed " Bernigol " began his career as a center forward in 1995 in the Argentine Primera División at Estudiantes de La Plata. In 1999 he moved to San Lorenzo de Almagro, to switch in January 2002 in the Bundesliga for Hamburger SV.

When he graduated from Hamburger SV 77 Bundesliga games and 35 goals in 2002 and 2003, he was top scorer in each of the club. In 2003, he won the League Cup with the club. When Thomas Doll was the new coach of HSV, he sat Romeo only rarely. The coach needed for his game concept a gambling center forward, while Romeo can be called a classic box player. Therefore, the club loaned the player, despite its excellent rate, in January 2005 at Real Mallorca. For the Spanish club Romeo graduated in La Liga ten games and scored two goals. From July 2005 to July 2007 played Romeo for CA Osasuna in La Liga. During the season, he scored five goals in 40 games. In July 2007 he returned to his home to San Lorenzo de Almagro.

For the 2010/11 season Romero joined Quilmes AC. There, however, he remained only a year and returned again back to San Lorenzo de Almagro.

National

Romeo played five matches for the Argentine national team. In 1997, he was in Malaysia with the U-20 national team of his country world champion.
