Bernd Dießner

Bernd Dießner ( born March 16, 1946 in Aken (Elbe ) ) is a former German track and field athlete and Olympian, who - starting for the GDR - in the 1960s and 1970s was a successful 5000 - meter runner. He later became a coach and managed several successful international runners, including the winners of Olympic medals Ulrike Bruns, Jens- Peter Herold and Jürgen Straub and the European champion Olaf Beyer.

1968 and 1971 he was East German champion. Bernd Dießner launched for the forward ASK Potsdam. In its competition time, he was 1.70 m tall and 70 kg.

Bernd Dießner worked as a full-time coach at LAC natural gas Chemnitz until 2009 and is retired since. Among his proteges was one among others André Pollmächer. In addition, he was country manager of the Athletics Federation of Saxony in the block run, that is, he was responsible for the runners on the routes of 800 meters to the marathon. In May 2009 Dießner was sentenced to a fine of 4500 € for violation of the drug law because he had administered a junior in Germany not permitted preparations. Dießner has appealed against the verdict.
