Bernhard Walthard

Bernhard Walthard (* May 29, 1897 in Bern, † 12, 1992) was a Swiss pathologist.

Life

Walthard studied in Geneva, Zurich, Hamburg and Berlin. In 1922 he received his doctorate at the University of Bern with the writing functional tests of the liver in graviditate sub partu, the puerperium and eclampsia. From 1928 he worked as a prosector.

He became a lecturer in 1932, 1940 and 1946 extraordinary professor in Bern. He served as successor Carl Wegelin the Pathological Institute University of Bern from 1946 to 1963. IN his scientific interests included malignancies and thyroid metabolism.
