Bernie Wrightson

Bernie " Berni" Wrightson ( born October 27, 1948 in Baltimore) is an American comic book artist and especially by his horror comics such as Swamp Thing known.

After several years as a cartoonist at the newspaper The Baltimore Sun he came to DC Comics in 1968 and was responsible for numerous book series, including House of Mystery and House of Secrets. In 1971 he founded, along with author Len Wein horror character Swamp Thing which a year later got her own book series. 1974 Wrightson went to the publisher Warren Publishing and was responsible for the black -and-white magazines Eerie, Creepy and Vampirella. There was a comic adaptation of the film Creepshow by Stephen King. In 1983 he created for the Marvel adaptation of the novel Frankenstein. In the late 1980s he made a Spiderman album, an album of Hulk and The Thing, as well as a mini-series in four issues of DC: Batman: The Cult. In addition, he finished illustrations for the horror comic book collection The Reaper of Love and Other Stories, which appeared in 1989 in the Norbert Hethke Publishing anthology Reaper of Love and Other Stories. 1991, followed by a mini-series Punisher P.O.V.
