Berrick Barnes

Berrick Barnes ( born May 28, 1986 in Brisbane ) is an Australian rugby union player who is active for the Australian national team and the Queensland Reds. He usually plays on the positions of connector or inner three-quarters.

Career

Barnes began his career in 2005 as a rugby league player for the Brisbane Broncos. After a year he moved to the Reds. He developed into one of the best players on the team, but could only place in the lower part of the table. At the 2007 World Championships, he ran in the game against Japan for the first time on the Australian national team.

After the retirement of Stephen Larkham, the set connector of Australia was for many years, Barnes became a regular player of the " Wallabies " and has since been with Matt Giteau one of the supporting pillars of the team. In the upcoming season of the multinational Tournament Super 14 he will leave the Reds and play for the Waratahs from New South Wales.
