Besòs (river)
Mouth
The Besòs is a 53 km long river in northeastern Spain in the province of Barcelona. It rises at the confluence of Mogent and Congost in the comarca ( county ) of Vallès Oriental and flows in the municipality of Sant Adrià de Besòs to the Mediterranean.
His run through the places Aiguafreda, La Garriga, Alcalá de Henares, Canovelles, Granollers, Montmeló, Mollet del Vallès, Montcada i Reixac, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Adrià de Besòs and Barcelona.

History
Although he was never navigable, he was a link between the Catalan coast and the interior. It was used for irrigation since the 10th century. As it flows through a densely populated and industrialized area, he became in the eighties notoriety as most polluted river in Europe. The mid-nineties he was cleaned and cleared.
