Scheat ( from Arabic ساق, DMG SAQ, leg ' ) is the name of the star β Pegasi in the constellation Pegasus. Scheat marks the north-eastern corner of the Pegasus square. Scheat is a Variable star from CO - Cygni type. Its brightness varies between 2.25 and 2.75 like having a period of 41 days. Scheat is a red giant of spectral type M2.
