Better Than Ezra

Better Than Ezra is an alternative rock band from New Orleans (USA). The band was founded in 1988 by Kevin Griffin while he and the other band members at Louisiana State University studied.

Band History

Better Than Ezra gave her unofficial debut in 1988 with the demo cassette " Chimes Street Demo". Two years later, with "Surprise" in 1990, then the first official album. After guitarist Joel Rundell died by suicide in August of the same year, put the remaining band members a break and at the end of 1990 found themselves together as a trio. The band succeeded three years later with the album Deluxe and the resulting coupled- Single Good a surprise success. After tensions with the rest of the band left drummer Cary Bonnecaze Better Than Ezra and was replaced by Travis McNabb. On the following albums, which had a significantly better production than Deluxe, the band brought some experimental pieces in their repertoire, and then the popularity but so significantly dropped the band after How Does Your Garden Grow? was set up by her record company to the door and since the successor Closer has no European distribution more. The last two albums brought in the United States again a slight increase success without return to the wedding of Deluxe. Similarly, let go of the band too large experiments and offered with their college rock again a consistent style.

In February 2009, drummer Travis McNabb left the band to devote himself to other projects. He was replaced by Michael Jerome, who came from the band Pleasure Club to Better than Ezra.
