Betzdorf Castle

Castle is a castle in the village Betz Betz village, in the east of Luxembourg. Today the castle is the seat of the satellite operator SES Global.

History

From April 9th ​​, 1953 through November 16, 1964, a few days after the accession of Grand Duke Jean and the move to Castle Hill, Castle Betz village was the residence of erbgroßherzoglichen family.

All children of Grand Duke Jean were born at Castle Betzdorf:

From 1964 to 1982, the castle served as a nursing home. For the 75th anniversary of the Scout Movement in July 1982, the castle was in 1200 foreign scouts as international camp, after which it stood empty for several years.

In 1986, the satellite operator SES Astra the castle by the state and it underwent extensive renovations. Today Castle Betz village serves as the seat of the company SES SA.
