Bev Harris

Bev Harris ( b. 1951 ) is the founder and chairman of the American Black Box Voting Inc., an initiative against voting machines.

She gained notoriety in 2002 when she discovered that Charles Hagel, one of the senators of Nebraska, a major shareholder of ES & S was a voting machine manufacturer. Of ES & S voting machines are used in large parts of Nebraska.

In 2003, she took on an unprotected site the source code of the voting machines from Diebold and gave it to security experts continue, which could then discover major flaws in this software. This was shown in 2006 in the documentary Hacking Democracy.
