Beverley Craven

Beverley Craven ( born July 28, 1963 in Colombo, Ceylon ) is a British singer and songwriter.

Life

Shortly after her birth, her parents returned back to England. Her mother was a violinist and through their guidance, she began playing the piano at seven. As a teenager, she was also a successful swimmer and took part in the British Championships. At 19, she tried a career in London. While she was looking for a matching ribbon and incidentally earned money as a waitress, she wrote her own songs.

After she toured as a background singer through Europe in the late 1980s with Bobby Womack, she managed with the help of Simon Nicol and Dave Mattacks of Fairport Convention as well as the producer Paul Samwell -Smith 1990, the successful publication of a solo album. The achieved named after her album # 3 in the UK and was able to hold an entire year on the charts. The first single, Promise Me, also became a number - three hit. With Woman to Woman Beverley Craven could get on the charts once. In 1992, she was voted Best British Newcomer. While, however, failed to further large single successes, could still take place in 1993 4, the second album Love Scenes. After that we heard nothing more of her long before the album Mixed Emotions returned again to the charts in 1999.

She was married to the English songwriter Colin Campsie, together the couple has three daughters, Mollie ( geb.1992 ), Brenna ( geb.1995 ) and Connie ( geb.1996 ). 2012 Beverley Craven separated by Colin Campsie. In her 2012 autobiography Truth be told Beverley Craven writes in great detail about the background and about their musical career.

2004 Promise Me by Lutricia McNeal gecovert and reached the German charts ( number 86 ). The title is also the basis of Scooters single 4 AM.
