Bezno is a Městys in Okres Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic with about 900 inhabitants. It is located east of the valley of the creek Košátecký.

History

The first settlement was already in the stone age ( older Neolithic, 4500 BC). Further evidence comes from the Bronze Age. From 1460 to 1694 the Knights Bzenští z Proruby prevailed in the area. At this time there were two forts ( Velkodvorská and v Malem dvoře ). After some changes, the Lords of Pacht took over the place and built a castle and a parish and built around the church. To this building statues of the artist Jelinek z Kosmonos were erected. The Farming place was the baroque settlement. Since 1881 the site of the Austrian imperial crown belonged under Franz Joseph I. After the fall of the monarchy Bezno was state property. Since 2008, the city has the status of Městys.
