Bhatpara ( Bengali: ভাটপাড়া, Bhatpara ) is a city in the Indian state of West Bengal, with around 390,000 inhabitants ( 2011 census ). The city lies on the Hooghly River in the district of Uttar 24 Pargana 36 kilometers north of Kolkata ( Calcutta). Bhatpara is part of the metropolitan region Kolkata.

History

About railways and roads to the north of Kolkata town is well connected to the center of the metropolis. As an administrative unit of the city in 1899 was created this year, she was separated from the municipality Naihati.

Economy
