BIC Phone

The Bic Phone is an offshoot of the Alcatel OT- S210 GSM mobile phone. It is an inexpensive phone that has only a few basic functions. It is sold in France and Spain by Orange as " disposable cell phone " to private customers. On 21 June 2010 announced that the Bic Phone is distributed by Proximus, a subsidiary of Belgacom in Belgium.

Société Bic, a French manufacturer of disposable products, receives royalties for the use of the brand and is otherwise involved neither in production nor sales. Basically, the BIC Phone is not marketed as a disposable phone but rather as a simple low -entry - phone.

The phone is available for immediate use, with a pre- charged battery and a limited number of free minutes (usually 60). It can be charged with credit card cards. The sales package includes a hands-free kit and a Micro USB charger. The basic functions consist in clock, alarm clock, calculator and FM radio. The phone can send and receive text messages, but has no multimedia functionalities. The price of the phone is dropped in Europe from the beginning about € 50 now just under 30 €.
