Biddeford is a city in the U.S. state of Maine in the United States of America with 21,227 inhabitants ( according to the census of 2010).
It lies close to the Atlantic Ocean on the south bank of the Saco River opposite its sister city Saco. Biddeford is a major industrial and commercial center of York County.

Geography
Biddeford is located about four kilometers west of the mouth of the Saco River into the Atlantic Ocean on the south bank of the river. In the midst of the city lie the Saco Falls, which were important for the industrialization of the city through the use of its hydropower.
