The Big Hole River is the source of the river left Jefferson, a source of the Missouri River, in the state of Montana in the United States.

It rises in Lake Skinner east of the border to Idaho to 2,245 m. The Big Hole River flows in a northeasterly direction and bends to the north at Laphan Mountain ( 2386 m). Passing Jackson and Wisdom, it flows through the Big Hole Valley. From Melrose runs the Big Hole River partially parallel to Interstate 15 just north of Twin Bridges, he joins with the Beaverhead River to Jefferson.
