Big Japan Pro-Wrestling
Big Japan Pro-Wrestling (Japanese大 日本 プロレス, Dainihon pro-wrestling, or BJPW BJW ) is a Japanese wrestling promotion that was founded in 1995 by Shinya Kojika. Short name is Big Japan.
History
BJPW one of a series of so-called hardcore leagues. The promotion is thus on the same level as Frontier Martial Arts Wrestling, IWA Japan or W * ing and fokosierte from the start so-called hardcore and death matches that have been developed from the " garbage wrestling style " out.
In the years 1999 and 2000 the wrestling style of BJPW was worldwide as the " best Deathmatch Wrestling". The matches between Ryuji Yamakawa and Tomoaki Honma became the epitome of the inclusion of garbage elements in a technically first-class wrestling match. Wrestlers such as Honma, Yamakawa, Shadow WX and Winger made the league extremely successful. Was placed mainly with Mr. Pogo still the main focus of the wrestling shows still on blood and violence, then the style changed slowly.
The greatest notoriety reached Big Japan through cooperation with the American promotion Combat Zone Wrestling John Zandig that was started in early 2000. This collaboration lasted two years and was at the beginning of an excellent business decision for both leagues. Observers say today, however, that BJPW was cheated here by CZW and at the end was left a burnt market. The old U.S. stars like Mike Samples and Abdullah the Butcher had left BJPW and the new stars like Zandig and Wifebeater were no longer in Japan. Local stars like Ryuji Yamakawa were seriously injured at this time, so that the business for BJPW broke. So BJPW stood for a long time before insignificance.
After several years with weak garbage orientation applies Big Japan since 2006 as a tip of the scene. Today BJPW has with the likes of Takashi Sasaki, Ryuji Ito and Jaki Numazawa new and Ligeneigende Stars. With the old comrades like Shadow WX and Jun Kasai is rounded off with the inclusion of more recent American death-match - stars such as Madman Pondo, 2 Tuff Tony, Necro Butcher and Masada. Meanwhile, the Korakuen Hall is once again sold out regularly.
