Bigerriones

The Bigerrionen (Latin Bigerriones, rare Bigerri ) were a Celtic tribe of Aquitani and settled on the northern edge of the Pyrenees in the region Aquitaine (later the Roman province Novempopulana ) in south-western France. They gave the landscape of Bigorre her name. The name itself is probably due to the Basque word ibai - Gorri (red river, red river ).
