Bikenibeu

Bikenibeu is the western elongated area and the largest settlement on the island of South Tarawa Bonriki the atoll of Tarawa. Bonriki is part of the still further to the west extending capital of South Tarawa of the island nation of Kiribati.

It is part of an island chain that is connected to navigable dams. To the west lies the island of Bikenibeu Eita; It is 18 km away from Bairiki and 23 km from Betio. Bikenibeu is 1 m above the sea level. According to 2005 census, it has 6,170 inhabitants is rising in the population center of the southern Tarawas.

In Bikenibeu from the Hospital Tungaru Central Hospital (Kiribati Hospital) and the Cultural Museum Te umanibong showing mainly crafts and other cultural and historical objects.

Northeast of Bikenibeu is Kiribati 's largest airport, the Bonriki International Airport.
