Bill Buford

Bill Buford (born 1954 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana) is an American writer and journalist.

Career

Bill Buford grew up in California and studied at the University of California at Berkeley and at King's College, University of Cambridge in England. From 1979 to 1995 he was editor and publisher of the literary magazine Granta and publisher at Granta Books. From 1995 to 2002 Buford was an editor for the New Yorker. Buford lives with his wife in New York and still writes for the "New Yorker".
