Bill Dana (comedian)

Bill Dana, actually William Szathmary, ( born October 5, 1924 in Quincy, Massachusetts ) is a retired American entertainer, scriptwriter and producer.

Life

Bill Dana was active as a nightclub entertainer and television in the early 1950s. He invented for his appearances the character Jose Jimenez, he played in 42 episodes The Bill Dana Show from 1963 to 1965. Under this name he took in 1961 an LP, which reached number 19 in the U.S. charts. In 1962, Jimenez was nominated for the Grammy - Award for Best Comedy Album Dana as Jose.
