Bill Miller (film producer)

Bill Miller ( born 1960 in Queensland, Australia) is an Australian film producer.

Life

Bill Miller visited with his brother, who later became director George Miller, the Sydney Boys High School. Like his brother, who gave up studying medicine to become a director, Bill Miller gave his original job as a lawyer to make in the world of film career. Together with his brother Byron Kennedy and he directed some short films, so the 14minütigen parody film Violence in the Cinema: Part One. This short film won the Australian Film Institute Awards and gave the trio the opportunity in the film industry to take root. Bill Miller was executive producer of George Miller's cult film Mad Max with Mel Gibson.

Together with George and Doug Mitchell, he was nominated as the producer of the film Babe for an Oscar. But Mel Gibson's Braveheart was at the Oscar Awards 1996 Best but film.The film won the Oscar for best visual effects. The film was also awarded the Golden Globe and received a BAFTA Award nomination for Best Picture. Bill Miller also produced the sequel Babe: Pig in the City (1998).

Together with his brother Mitchell and he also produced the computer-animated film Happy Feet. He participated in a six-week expedition for research on the life of penguins in Antarctica. On the ambitious project, which was picked up by Warner Bros. in the rental, employed 300 filmmakers and was the most expensive animated film in Australia. The worldwide success of the film won an Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film. Miller also participated in the sequel Happy Feet 2
